Dimitrov's strong Brisbane start
Grigor Dimitrov has cruised into the second round of the Brisbane International, beating Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3 6-4 on Monday.
The Bulgarian mixed nine aces with six double faults and saved six of the seven break points he faced to ensure there was no early exit in Queensland.
Dimitrov was stopped by eventual champion Nick Kyrgios in a quality semi-final 12 months ago and the sixth seed will again fancy his chances of a deep run as he awaits a potential second-round clash with local favourite John Millman.
