Tracking to tackle Tas domestic violence
GPS tracking devices are being used in a Tasmanian trial designed to help protect victims of domestic violence.
The locked ankle bands track the movement of offenders to make sure they don't breach family violence orders, and could be used to provide evidence in court.
Police Minister Michael Ferguson told parliament on Wednesday three offenders had been fitted with the electronic devices under the $2.5 million trial, with a view to increasing that number over time.
