Queen reaches out to Aust drought affected
The Queen says she and Prince Phillip are deeply saddened by the drought affecting so many Australians but are heartened to see communities rallying together.
In a message released by Government House on Thursday, Queen Elizabeth II said it was clear the drought was taking an immense toll on those living and working in rural towns.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the many individuals, families, communities and businesses who have been affected, and I send my sincere thanks to all those who stand shoulder-to-shoulder in their support," she said.
