ICAC to study SafeWorkSA corruption risks
An evaluation by South Australia's Independent Commissioner Against Corruption will aim to identify risks of misconduct within the state's workplace safety watchdog, the commissioner's first public hearing has heard.
The commissioner, Bruce Lander, said last month he had received a number of complaints and reports about SafeWork SA and had decided to conduct an evaluation of the workplace safety agency's regulatory arm.
"The purpose of this evaluation is to... identify risks of corruption, maladministration and misconduct, to highlight good practice and to recommend opportunities to improve," counsel assisting the commissioner, Holly Stanley, told the hearing on Friday.
