Baby found sitting on drain pipe in Sydney
A baby found on an inner Sydney street late Wednesday night is the subject of a police and social welfare investigation.
Surrey Hills residents found the baby sitting on a drain pipe about 11.30pm and called police, who sent the child to hospital for a health check, Nine Network reported on Thursday.
A woman, believed to be the mother of the child, says the baby was not abandoned but police are continuing their investigation along with the NSW Department of Community & Family Services.
