Trad to fight for Qld's share of GST

Queensland Treasurer Jackie Trad will put her case for the state to keep its GST share on Monday when she fronts a Productivity Commission hearing.

The state government is hoping to maintain its current portion and has expressed concerns about draft options by the Commission that could result in its being $2.4 billion worse off.

Ms Trad said in January it was "critical" for the Commission and federal government to understand the impact such a move would have on a state "as big and as decentralised as Queensland".

The Productivity Commission is holding its hearing in Brisbane on Monday as part of its review into the distribution of GST in Australia.
