BASED ON WHAT THOUSANDS OF SURVIVORS TOLD COMMISSION IN PRIVATE SESSIONS:
* Most commonly reported institutions were managed by religious organisations
- 60 per cent of all reports were religious institutions
- More than 1500 religious institutions reported
- More than 2000 private session attendees reported abuse in Catholic institution (37 per cent of total attendees)
- Anglican Church reported by 500 survivors in more than 200 institutions (9 per cent of total)
- Salvation Army reported by more than 250 survivors in 50 institutions (4 per cent of total)
- 3 per cent of survivors reported abuse in other Protestant institution; 2 per cent for Presbyterian and Reformed churches; 1.3 per cent for Uniting Church; 1 per cent for Jehovah's Witness; 0.6 per cent for Baptist Church; 0.5 per cent for Pentecostal Church; 0.4 per cent for Churches of Christ; 0.4 per cent for Seventh Day Adventist; 0.3 per cent for Lutheran Church

* A third of survivors reported abuse in more than 900 government institutions
* 10 per cent of survivors reported abuse in 400 institutions under secular management
* Survivors most commonly reported institutions that provided historical out-of-home care (39 per cent); education (32 per cent), religious instruction/associated with place of worship (15 per cent).

* 1880 alleged perpetrators identified
