Vic logo more like 'map of Tassie'
Victoria will use the Big V to promote the state, but critics say the new logo looks more like "a map of Tassie".
The state's $220,000 new logo is a V-shaped wedge through the word Victoria, with versions to be used at next year's Australian Open.
Premier Daniel Andrews says the logo unifies Victoria's branding, but opposition leader Matthew Guy thinks it looks more like "a map of Tassie".
"It looks like an advert for Tasmania," Mr Guy told reporters.
"If it said `TAS' in the triangle not `VIC' you'd think it was branding for Tassie."
Mr Andrews said the new branding would be used to sell the state internationally, with more than $20 million to be spent on an aggressive marketing campaign.
"The Big V is back," Mr Andrews said.
"It says also to other states we're coming after their events, their awards and their tourists."
The logo comes with a new slogan - "Best of everything".
NSW Premier Mike Baird couldn't help but have a dig at the southern state's logo.
"*offer excludes harbour, infrastructure and sunshine," he posted on Twitter next to a picture of the logo.
