$50 million of ice off Sydney streets

Fifty kilograms of `ice', with a street value of $50 million, has been seized by police after a crime syndicate was busted in Sydney's inner west.

A tip off led police to Burwood where they searched a 4WD, with two men inside, and found a suitcase with 10kg of ice sealed in Asian-themed packages.

Further searches at properties in Burwood, Canterbury and a truck in Campsie, lead to another 40kg of ice and cash being seized.

A 33-year-old man from Canterbury and a 41-year-old from Ashfield have both been charged with large commercial drug supply and refused bail.

Police Minister Troy Grant applauded the officers for "getting 50kg of this insidious drug off our streets".
