Def Leppard tour still on despite cancer

Rockers Def Leppard are still coming to Australia in November despite guitarist Vivian Campbell's cancer returning.

Campbell was due to start radiation therapy but it would have sidelined him during the band's US tour. His doctors have devised an alternative treatment plan so he can re-join the band in Alabama this weekend.

"They've tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won't have to miss any more shows," he said.

"I'm so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen."

Campbell was first diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in March 2013.

DEF LEPPARD AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES:

November 17 - Qantas Credit Union Arena, Sydney

November 18 - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

November 21 - Red Hill Amphitheatre, Perth
