Schools to be on guard for radicalisation

Senior education officials will join forces to prevent the radicalisation of Australian schoolchildren.

Federal Education Minister Christopher Pyne says the officers will identify what further action can be taken to support law enforcement agencies fighting the rising terror threat.

"Unfortunately what we are seeing right now is a heightened awareness of radicalisation in schools because of the examples of young people going to the Middle East to be foreign fighters," he said after a meeting of the education council in Brisbane on Friday.
