Reality TV bride happy hubby not a bogan
Zoe admits she feels sorry for her new `husband' Alex after watching footage of the way she treated him on their `wedding' day.
The reality show star has a meltdown of sorts as she meets Alex at the altar during the latest episode of Married At First Sight.
Zoe refuses to look at Alex, who plays with her bouquet instead.
"I did feel sorry for Alex looking back because I think ... he was probably as freaked out but I wasn't really giving much," she told AAP.
"I think he would have initially been thinking `does she not like me'?"
Zoe admits Alex was different to the Spanish looking man she had imagined.
"I definitely thought he was attractive," Zoe said.
"I was expecting a Spanish guy for some reason."
There was one thing Zoe was keen to avoid - being paired up with a bogan.
"You can't tell a bogan by looking at them, especially if they're wearing a suit," Zoe said.
"Put a bogan in a suit and they'll just look like a suit. A bogan is more how you treat people, how you talk, your level of ignorance ... if you are racist or if you are like anti-marriage equality, all that kind of stuff, that for me is a type of bogan.
"You can have a guy living in (wealthy inner-Melbourne suburb) Toorak that's a bogan; bogans are hiding amongst us - they are - and they are not always who we think they are."
Much to Zoe's relief, Alex, who runs his own plumbing business, is not a bogan.
She says the pair stayed up late together chatting on their honeymoon to the Whitsundays and discovered despite their differences they had more in common than they thought.
"He has travelled extensively, I love to travel and have travelled a lot," she said.
"He has been to India.
"Bogans just go to Bali, you know, bogans don't go to India."
Zoe says Alex is effortlessly funny but not in a mean way.
"We couldn't stop talking," she said.
On Married At First Sight couples take part in a commitment ceremony - they are not legally married - and live together as a couple before deciding whether or not to continue their relationship.
* Married At First Sight is shown on the Nine Network on Monday's at 8.45pm (AEST).
