Sydney man charged over alleged shooting

A man is expected to front court in relation to a shooting incident in Sydney's west in December, in which a 20-year-old man suffered a leg wound.

It's alleged the victim was driven to the hospital, but the car left the scene before he could seek medical attention.

Police executed a search warrant at a Merrylands home later that day and arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth with firearm and drug-related offences after allegedly seizing a rifle, stun gun, capsicum spray, MDMA and cannabis leaf.

A 25-year-old man was arrested about 5.45pm on Wednesday and he was later charged at Parramatta Police Station with shooting with intent, hindering a police investigation and numerous firearm-related offences.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
