Woman steals Vic cheque book, then $36K

A woman has pocketed more than $36,000 after stealing a cheque book from a Melbourne letterbox.

The cheque book was stolen during a burglary in Southbank and the woman then used a stolen driver's licence to cash the cheques at banks around Melbourne in May, police say.

Police have released images of a woman they wish to speak to, describing her as Caucasian and aged in her mid to late 20s with brown hair.
