Traffic offence led to trafficking charges

Not wearing a helmet has turned out to be a poor choice for a Melbourne man after police executed a warrant at his home and seized drugs and cash.

The cyclist was taken into custody on Tuesday night after police stopped and searched him, allegedly finding some white powder.

A search of his home on Wednesday ended with the 35-year-old from St Kilda West charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking ecstasy and possessing the proceeds of crime as well as a number of prescription medication offences.
