Sheppard go platinum in US

Sheppard's hit single Geronimo has gone platinum in the US.

The band shared the news of the milestone on their Instagram page.

Sheppard wrote: "Thank you for making Geronimo platinum in the US" in a speech bubble over a photo of the band on their social media account.

"Dreams do come true :) thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us! Couldn't have done it without you #GERONIMOplatinum," the band captioned the snap.

Sheppard have been campaigning hard in the US for their music to have an impact stateside.

They have appeared on the Jimmy Fallon and the Ellen Degeneres shows.

They also, jsut recently, made it in at No.35 on the American Top 40 - a radio countdown hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

They're only the third Aussie band to achieve this feat on the AT40 after Jet and 5SOS.

They also recently performed at the Radio Disney Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in LA alongside Canadian singer Shawn Mendes and US singer Tori Kelly.
