Colin Fassnidge protects MKR ratings
Irish chef Colin Fassnidge has become the sacrificial lamb for the Seven Network which has shielded My Kitchen Rules from the finale of The Block Triple Threat.
The network will debut Fassnidge's new two-part series, My Ireland With Colin, in a head-to-head battle with the finale of The Block Triple Threat at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Until now, the time slot has been the domain of My Kitchen Rules all season.
Instead, My Kitchen Rules, which has reached the finals stages of the series, will only air on Monday and Tuesday this week before returning on Sunday night.
In its place on Wednesday will be the first episode of My Ireland With Colin. The second episode will screen on Thursday.
It's probably a wise decision by Seven to protect My Kitchen Rules from being crushed in the ratings by The Block Triple Threat which has been gaining momentum in the ratings.
On Sunday, the Nine Network renovation series beat My Kitchen Rules in the OzTAM overnight ratings for the first time this year.
Another ratings win is in store for The Block Triple Threat when the houses are auctioned off on Wednesday's finale.
