Sonia Kruger back on the set of Mornings

New mum Sonia Kruger has returned to her day job on the set of Mornings about "10 kilograms" too early.

The upbeat Kruger, who gave birth to Maggie three months ago, joined co-host David Campbell on the Nine Network morning show on Monday.

Kruger said she was up way earlier than she expected for first day back at Nine after being woken by her bub .

"I am delirious," Kruger told the Kylie and Jackie O show on Kiis FM.

"At 2.45 this morning I was awake looking at the clock thinking I should be doing breakfast bloody radio."

Asked if she would have liked a bit more time off, Kruger replied: "I could do with another 10 kilos worth of time."

Mornings is not the only show Kruger has or will return to work on at Nine this year.

She will join Darren McMullen as a co-host of The Voice and she'll return for Big Brother later in the year but it's likely not to be regular Aussies in the house.

Kruger all but confirmed Nine is to invest in a Celebrity Big Brother show which will have a much shorter run than the regular series.

Already former page three girl Katie Price, aka Jordan, has been linked with the reality series.

"They are still looking at the casting. There are some big international names that are being floated," she said.

"If we did Celebrity Big Brother it would be slightly shorter run.

"It would be good to have Katie Price as long we can get Peter Andre."
