True Detective season two trailer drops
The first glimpse of the second season of gritty crime drama True Detective has finally arrived.
The one-minute long, wordless teaser is mostly a bunch of moody shots of the main characters, including Colin Farrell, who plays a compromised detective.
A murder brings him together with career criminal Vince Vaughn and two other law-enforcement officers, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch.
The latest offering from HBO's award winning series focuses on how these characters navigate "a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder".
Apart from angst-filled stare-offs, the teaser includes plenty of fist fights, knuckledusters and guns.
It echoes the same dark tone as the first hit series, starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.
Nic Pizzolatto, who created and wrote the first offering, is back at the helm again, while Fast & Furious director Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes.
True Detective season two premieres in the US on June 21.
