Jon Snow the worst dinner party guest

He may melt ice with his brooding eyes, but Jon Snow knows nothing about table manners.

While the Winterfell bastard charms us on screen, his tales of bloodshed, incest and terrors North of the wall wouldn't go down too well at a real life dinner party.

So when Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones stopped by US late night talk show host Seth Meyers' place to dine in character on Tuesday, things got awkward.

The Night's Watchman has mastered the sword, but he's yet to master small talk, interrupting genial chat about springtime New York weather by declaring "Winter is coming."

"The snow will fall a hundred feet deep, the ice wind will howl out of the North, the sun will hide its face for years and little children will be born and die in the darkness," he said.

He later adds, "the brussel sprouts are amazing."

With the forthcoming fifth season just days away, Snow disturbed fellow guests by recapping grisly details from the Red Wedding, ruined a game of charades and came close to revealing the identity of his mother.

And if you've been pining for more gratuitous sex and violence from the Seven Kingdoms, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau thinks you'll be in for a treat come April 13.

The actor who plays Jaime Lannister insists the controversial show has pushed boundaries in season five.

"This new season is bloodier and more shocking than ever before. That's pretty much the only thing I can confirm," he said.

"Viewers won't be bored, put it that way. You read the script and think, 'whoa, are they really going to go that far.' It's the beauty of the show."
