Remains found in Vic diver search
A piece of wetsuit and what might be human remains have been found in the search for two divers missing off the Victorian coast.
Searchers made the discovery on Tuesday, police said. The remains have been taken for forensic examination.
The men - a 42-year-old St Albans man and a Vermont South man, 34 - are believed to have become caught in a swell while looking for shellfish on Saturday near rocks at Fingal Beach, north of Cape Schanck.
A 50-year-old Keysborough man, who was diving with the men, was able to swim to shore and raise the alarm.
Police said on Wednesday authorities had scaled back search efforts but would continue doing shoreline patrols for several days.
