The Presets replace London Grammar

The Presets have been drafted in to replace London Grammar on the Splendour in the Grass line-up.

The Aussie electronic duo will replace the British three-piece who pulled out of the Byron Bay music festival, which kicks off this weekend, and their two sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne "due to illness".

Splendour in the Grass co-producers, Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco, said it was frontwoman, Hannah Reid, who had taken ill.

"We're sorry to report that Hannah from London Grammar has been taken ill, after cancelling T In The Park we hoped she would recover in time for Splendour but unfortunately has not," they said in a statement.

The producers also said it's been quite a challenge finding a suitable replacement at such short notice but are pleased to announce The Presets have come to the rescue.

The Australian band will step in to the Friday night slot left vacant by the British band.

London Grammar are the third act to pull out of the Byron Bay music festival after Northern Irish band Two Door Cinema Club and Nashville band The Wild Feathers, both pulled out in the last few weeks.

City and Colour, who was second on the Saturday night bill, will step up into Two Door Cinema Club's headline slot while UK band Foals have been drafted in to fill in the rest of Saturday's line-up.

Australian band Mt Warning will replace The Wild Feathers in their Sunday slot.

"Whilst beyond our control we are personally very disappointed with the last minute line-up changes but we are thankful for the support from Foals and The Presets stepping up in lightning speed. Here's to a great show," Ducrou and Piticco said.

London Grammar's sold-out Sydney and Melbourne sideshows have been rescheduled for March 2015.

Splendour In The Grass is set to begin on July 25 in the North Byron Parklands. Tickets are sold out for the three day festival featuring acts such as Lily Allen, Outkast, Angus & Julia Stone and Vance Joy.
