City earn draw with Oldham

Melbourne City have earned a 1-1 draw with English third-tier side Oldham Athletic on their pre-season trip to Manchester.

David Williams scored for City shortly after halftime before Spaniard Miguel Llera equalised.

Coach John van `t Schip fielded a number of trialists in his line-up and made five halftime substitutes as he experimented with new players and systems.

The result follows a 2-2 draw with fourth-tier Bury last week.

City play second-tier side Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday in the last of three games in the UK.

The newly renamed Melbourne City are spending 17 days based out of parent club Manchester City's Carrington training base before returning to prepare for their season-opening FFA Cup match with Sydney FC.
