MediaWorks CEO resigns after 30 years

Major New Zealand media company MediaWorks is set to get a new chief.

MediaWorks announced on Wednesday that its group CEO Sussan Turner has resigned after 30 years with the company.

Ms Turner has been at the helm of MediaWorks for four-and-a-half years, guiding the company through last year's receivership and debt restructuring.

The career radio journalist began as a cadet in Dunedin in 1984, later becoming managing director of Radio Otago before the age of 30.

"I have had a wonderful career in the media business," Ms Turner said.

MediaWorks' board are yet to name a replacement, but confirmed the outgoing CEO will hand over the reins to her successor in August.
