Teens charged after man stabbed in Qld

Two teenage boys have been charged after a man was stabbed during an attempted robbery in southeast Queensland.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, allegedly approached a 28-year-old man on an Ipswich street shortly before 10pm on Friday (AEST), demanding his phone and pulling out a knife when the man protested.

A friend came to help the man and was stabbed in the shoulder, police said.

The 16-year-old has been charged with possession of a knife in public, attempted armed robbery in company and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

The 17-year-old was charged with attempted armed robbery and assault occasioning bodily harm in company, and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Sunday.
