Thousands march for Blessie
Thousands of people turned out for a candle-lit march for murdered Auckland mother-of-three Blessie Gotingco.
The 56-year-old disappeared on May 24 and her body was discovered in a North Shore cemetery two days later.
A man has been charged with her murder.
About 2000 people took part in the candle-lit walk on Saturday night, which started at Birkdale Primary School, Radio New Zealand reported.
"I never expected this size of a crowd," her husband Antonio Gotingco said at the start of the march.
"I think some of you are even coming from distant places.
"Thank you very much. I am sure Blessie is watching us all and she is very happy."
The couple grew up in Cebu, in the Philippines, and had been married for 30 years.
The 27-year-old man accused of murdering Mrs Gotingco has been granted name suppression and will appear in court again this month.
