Lydia Ko adjusting to life in pro ranks

Lydia Ko admits her first full year as a professional has taken its toll as she prepares for the latest LPGA tournament in New Jersey.

Ko, 17, has played 10 of the 12 LPGA events in her rookie year and admits time has flown as she settles into the grind of professionalism.

Sponsorship commitments are a regular part of her week while this week in Galloway she provided community service at a foodbank as part of the tournament promotion.

"It feels like it takes a long time for the week to go," she told the tour website when asked how she had adjusted from the amateur ranks.

"You play week after week, it's kind of tough.

"Before, I would play one week and have a couple of weeks off. It's definitely a new experience. I can't believe that a third of the season has already gone by."

The world No.3 at least has one less playing day to contend with this week.

The $US1.5 million ($NZ1.8 million) ShopRite LPGA Classic starting on Friday is a three-round affair.

Ko has won prizemoney of $US554,0444 this year, featuring a win at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classsic last month and five top-10 finishes.
