Julianne Moore talks Mockingjay

Julianne Moore says Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence's jovial on-set antics made her job on the franchise's upcoming sequel easier.

Moore will make her debut as cool and calculating President Coin the hugely popular series when Mockingjay: Part 1 hits screens at the end of the year.

In a new behind-the-scenes interview posted online by the franchise, she says Lawrence's on-set hijinks lightened the mood on the set of the dystopian flick.

"(She) is a great girl, very funny," Moore said.

"Most importantly she has a great sense of humour and ease about her on the set."

"Just the fact she's happy to be there and laughs a lot, makes it easier for me to be there."

While Katniss and Coin aren't exactly buddies in Suzanne Collins' books, Moore said she was thankful things were a little more cordial on-set.

She also had to forgo her trademark red hair to become District 13 enigmatic leader.

In the first official picture of Coin, Moore can be seen with streaked grey hair and an unsettling stare.

A shot of Moore sitting alongside the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, introduced in the franchise's second instalment as Plutarch Heavensbee, has also been released.
