Snapshot of the Eels' NRL semi-final win
SNAPSHOT OF THE FIRST NRL SEMI FINAL:
* Result: Parramatta Eels 40 defeated Canberra Raiders 4 in front of 29,134 fans at CommBank Stadium.
* Key moment: In the 14th minute, Dylan Brown put in a grubber kick that bounced through the legs of Raiders fullback Xavier Savage and was collected by Tom Opacic. The try rattled the Raiders, who conceded twice more in the 10 minutes that followed. For the Eels, Opacic's try ensured a 10-0 lead. When the Eels have led by 10 or more points in 2022, they've won every game.
* Key stat: The Eels and Raiders throw the most and second-most offloads in the NRL, respectively, but Parramatta monstered Canberra in this stat on Friday night. The Eels led the offload count 10-0 at halftime and 20-9 at the final whistle, proof of their dominance in the collision battle.
* Injuries/suspensions: Corey Harawira-Naera (head knock), Sebastian Kris (head knock) Tom Opacic (hamstring), Jack Wighton (on report)
* What's next?: Parramatta will pack their bags for Townsville, where they'll meet North Queensland in next Friday's preliminary final. The Eels' 35-4 loss to the Cowboys in round 8 was the sides' only meeting in the regular season and remains Parramatta's biggest loss of 2022.
