Sinead O¿Connor, born in 1966, was an Irish singer, songwriter and activist. She achieved international success with her chart-topping 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U, written by Prince, which sold more than 7million copies. The song was from her second studio album I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. She changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat in 2018 when she converted to Islam. The Grammy-winning singer died at the age of 56 in July 2023 after years of mental health battles.
