Bjork and Cher
Bjork
After a cameo appearance as herself in Robert Altman's fashion flick Pret-a-Porter, the Icelandic berserker starred in Lars Von Trier's bizarre and depressing musical Dancer In The Dark and she won the Cannes Film Festival best actress award for her performance. However she apparently found the making of the picture extremely harrowing and recently told an interviewer she saw herself primarily as a musician and had no intention of making any more films.
Cher
Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre is that most rare of creatures - a rock star with an Oscar. She won a best actress Academy Award for her role in the 1987 film Moonstruck.Four years earlier she was nominated as best supporting actress for Silkwood. She also has a couple of Bafta nominations for the same films and a best actress award from Cannes for Mask.
She recently starred in Franco Zeffirelli's Tea With Mussolini with Judi Dench, Joan Plowright and Maggie Smith and was more than capable of holding her own with the hugely experienced Thesps.
