Meat Loaf and Sting
Meat Loaf
The bulky singer of Bat Out Of Hell, one of the best-selling albums ever, made his film debut as Eddie in the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show and has been racking up small roles ever since. He has been in The 51st State, Fight Club, Crazy In Alabama, Spice World and Wayne's World, among many others. Meat Loaf certainly tries hard but has yet to make the breakthrough to lead roles.
Sting
Oi, Sting, no! OK, he just about pulls it off in Quadrophenia as the perfect Mod, Ace. But then in film after film, including Brimstone and Treacle, Dune, Stormy Monday and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, he proves that having a great voice, good pecs and unprecedented sexual stamina are no guarantee of being able to act your way out of a paper bag.He has said: 'My job is being a musician ...I just make films for fun, really.' The thing is, it's no fun for anyone else.
