Last year, Great Britain's Davis Cup team lost at home 3-2 to Ecuador, and were relegated from the élite group of the best 16 nations. Heads rolled at the LTA, and the team bounced back against Portugal last April.
That set up this re-match with the Ecuadoreans to qualify for the élite group again, on clay, in the intimidating environs of a converted bullring in Guayaquil.
Tim Henman - who won both rubbers last time - Greg Rusedski - who lost one and injured himself - new hero Barry Cowan and young Martin Lee are out for revenge - the Lapentti brothers await.
