The Freedom Tram
Back in 1968, a group of tram buffs invited some Czech tram engineers over for a visit. It went swimmingly and, on the last night, the Czechs promised to send one of their best trams to the buffs' new museum.
Accordingly, a fine old tram was put on a low loader, with a team of engineers, and sent out of Prague. But as the tram left, the Russians arrived, and the border closed.
