Newquay
A new docusoap from Channel 5 that is unlikely to appeal far beyond the teen audience it is (presumably) intended for.
It is set in Newquay, the Cornish resort, which we are asked to believe is 'the British Ibiza', a vibrant, buzzing place to which the nation's youth flocks in quest of sun, sand, surf and other things beginning with s. However, the docusoap itself manages to be remarkably tedious.
Episode one introduces three of the regulars - the inevitable would-be TV presenter, the equally inevitable would-be rock star and a well-spoken lad who is cramming for his GCSEs (at the age of about 23, by the look of him). Dull, all of them.
