Where There's Smoke
This two-part thriller first turned up in the ITV schedule several months ago, only to be pulled at the very last minute. Now it's back (part two is tomorrow at 9pm) to make a very watchable entertainment for a summer weekend.
Zara Turner stars as Kate, a successful media consultant who works in a fabulously trendy office and apparently has everything - except that she is increasingly aware of the ticking of her biological clock.
In the bitter aftermath of a failed relationship, Kate - not one to do things by halves - decides to advertise for a donor to get her pregnant. One of the letters sent in response to her anonymous box number particularly intrigues her and she decides to meet its author, clinical psychologist Dr Alex Turner (Nick Reding).
He is charming, good-looking and adamant that - like her - he doesn't want a relationship. In fact, as Kate excitedly confides to her best friends, he seems to be 'Mr Right'.
It is not giving too much away to say that this judgment is premature...
