The Snapper
This BBC-made sequel to the smash-hit musical feature film The Commitments disappointed a number of the movie's fans when it first aired.
Whereas it does lack the soulful exuberance of Alan Parker's film, there is definitely a great deal of novelist Roddy Doyle's black Dublin humour still in evidence.
Sharon Curley (Tina Kellegher), daughter of forthright father Dessie (Colm Meanie - one of the returning cast members of The Commitments), still lives at home with her parents and assorted brothers and sisters.
When she falls pregnant but refuses to name the father of her child, the rumour mill cranks into action.
