He's the former professional footy player who has since established himself for his comedic work on The Footy Show.

And Beau Ryan rallied more laughs when he posted a picture of his new (very large) tattoo, featuring The Rock's face on his leg. 

Posting two pictures to Instagram, the former NRL star first posted a picture of himself staring into Dwayne Johnson's eyes.

Captioning the post, he wrote: 'At the end of this year I'm going to Samoa.'

He added: 'This is the exact moment I asked the big uce personally for permission to visit his country.'

Going on to explain the tattoo, he wrote: 'He responded by saying "Only if you get a tattoo of my beautiful face somewhere in your body". So I did.'

In the next picture, Beau posted a snap of the tattoo located on his knee which proceeded down his shin area.

The extensively detailed tattoo clearly shows a picture of The Rock's face, sporting a raised eyebrow expression.

Further detailed with a smirk and his signature stubble around his chin, Beau's new ink even shows a portion of Dwayne's chest tattoo poking out from the top of a black T-shirt.

Fans were quick to speculate whether the tattoo was in fact his or not, with one writing: 'We're Australians. Not some fellas you can pull the wool over our eyes, bud.' 

Another questioned the tattoo's semi-cryptic location, with one writing: 'Is that on your thumb?'
