Dr Who return for 'dumped' Martha
Last updated at 20:18 03 November 2007
Doctor Who's assistant Martha Jones will return for five episodes in the middle of the next series of the BBC1 show.
Martha meets the Doctor, played by David Tennant, and his new companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) as they take on classic Seventies enemies the Sontarans.
The announcement makes nonsense of reports that actress Freema Agyeman, 28 – who plays Martha – was dropped from the show because executives were disappointed with her performance.

She said: "I am delighted to be back filming on Doctor Who."
The new series, to be screened in the spring, begins with Donna tracking down The Doctor during an alien emergency in modern London.
It will also feature an appearance by mystery writer Agatha Christie and a trip to Pompeii.
Guests will include Felicity Kendal and former Coronation Street star Sarah Lancashire.
