Gordon, meet Gordon. Mr Brown met Mr Ramsay for what is believed to be the first time at a charity dinner for Women's Aid.
Both men seemed pleased to be making the acquaintance. The two Gordon's have fearsome reputations in their respective arenas and seemed to mirror eachother's body language in a sign of mutual appreciation.
The Prime Minister and wife Sarah were the guests of honour at the event in a marquee in Berkeley Square, London, hosted by Mr Ramsay and his wife Tana.
Sarah Brown is a Patron of Women's Aid and officially opened the event.

Entertainment was provided by jazz singer Jamie Cullum, who brought his new girlfriend Sophie Dahl.
Other guests included Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond, British tennis player Greg Rudeski, fashionista Trinny Woodall, Lady Helen Windsor and motor racing tycoon Eddie Jordan. Model Kate Moss also made a cameo appearance.
They enjoyed a sumptuous dinner of seared tuna followed by Label Anglaise chicken and a delicate peanut butter parfait with cherries.
The dinner was raising money for the Women's Aid ACT campaign against domestic violence.
A highlight of the evening was the charity auction. The star lot offering the sole use of the 'Gordon Ramsey Hospital Road' restaurant raised £100,000. In total the night raised £475,000.
Women's Aid Chief Executive, Nicola Hawkin said: "We are so grateful to Gordon and Tana Ramsay for hosting this wonderful event."
Fiery chef Gordon and his wife ran the London Marathon for Women's Aid this year.
