The Dark Half

Based on a book by Stephen King, this horror film starts off frighteningly enough, but peters out to a barely satisfying conclusion.

Timothy Hutton stars as a serious-minded academic and kindly family man, Thad Beaumont, who writes gory pulp fiction under a pseudonym.

When he decides to kill off his alter ego, however, his supposedly fictional novelist fights back. Thad is then implicated in a series of murders and his family is threatened.
