Clocking Off
The second run of Paul Abbott's Bafta award-winning series comes to an end with a powerful performance by Lesley Sharp - TV drama's finest - as Trudy, Mackintosh Textiles' most upwardly-mobile employee.
Her secure relationship with Martin (Jason Merrells) is given a double boost when they decide to marry, and to set up their own haulage business, with the textile company as their chief client.
Needless to say, something has to go wrong somewhere, and it does so spectacularly when Martin's heavily pregnant sister-in-law, Sue, turns up.
