Nuremberg
This two-part mini-series (concluding tomorrow) is a grand international coproduction, dramatising the story of the Nuremberg war crimes trials in which 21 members of the Nazi high command were held to account.
Alec Baldwin stars as Robert Jackson, the chief prosecutor, and the glittering support cast includes such names as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and, giving a bravura performance as Hermann Goering, Brian Cox.
It's necessarily a wordy affair - more history lesson than drama - but the story it tells is, by any standards, remarkable.
