She's the international pop superstar who will co-host Channel Seven's Sunrise on Monday.

And Katy Perry showed her wild side getting up close and personal with some critters as she pre-recorded segments for the popular breakfast show on Saturday.

The Firework singer looked a tad uneasy as an animal wrangler from the Australian Reptile park presented her with a Komodo dragon on a leash.

The handler laughed as he held the creature aloft while Katy sported a look of mild concern.

Katy's fear looked to turn to inquisitiveness as she got closer to the giant lizard but still displayed an air of caution regardless.

If the Komodo dragon, gave Katy the creeps, it was nothing compared to the reaction she gave after the animal handler brought a giant python onto the stage.

At one point during the segment, Katy was convinced to 'wear' the snake over her shoulders, which did little to calm her nerves.

While the dragon and the snake elicited concern from Katy, ironically, it was a cuddly wombat that seemed to give her the biggest fright.

As she stood, cuddling the critter in her arms, Katy, again, looked to be on the verge of bursting into tears.

Sporting a mock-angry expression as she rode, Katy looked to be chastising the unnamed man for exposing her to such wild creatures.

As she settled back into her chair, alongside hosts Samantha Armytage, David Koch, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta, Katy seemed a lot more comfortable.

The foursome looked in a cheerful mood, smiling broadly as they played up to the cameras. 

Ahead of her Sunrise co-hosting duties on Monday, Katy will also take to the stage on Sunday's The Voice grand finale.
