'Eh?!' Bizarre moment Richard Wilkins and Tim Gilbert have a tense exchange about State Of Origin on Today… as Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson and Sylvia Jeffreys look VERY confused
It's the rugby league competition that divides a nation along two state lines.
And things got a bit awkward on Tuesday's Today show when talk turned to whether the program was being biased over how many Queensland-related State of Origin stories were aired.
The discussion took an even more bizarre turn when Richard Wilkins was asked for his thoughts, and the entertainment reporter instead argued for more coverage of the America's Cup - a yacht race held annually in June.

'Eh?!' Today hosts Karl Stefanovic (left) and Lisa Wilkinson (right) were left confused by an apparently tense exchange between Richard Wilkins and Tim Gilbert about State Of Origin
The confusing moment started when host Lisa Wilkinson asked sports journalist Tim Gilbert to include more Queensland stories in his Origin reporting.
'Thank you Lisa. I think the first two stories I ran this morning have been Queensland stories,' Tim responded.
After Lisa and Karl Stefanovic jokingly accused Tim of showing his bias and being a 'one-eyed' supporter, they asked showbiz supremo Richard to weigh in.
'I'm going to Dickie's opinion on all this,' Karl said.

But Tim interrupted before Richard had a chance to speak and poked fun at his colleague's habit of not choosing sides.
'Oh Dickie, "I like Queensland but, then again, I like NSW. Then again, I like the All Blacks."'
But Richard left everyone surprised when he abruptly changed the subject by talking about the America's Cup.

'I would like to see some America's Cup coverage in there because it is going well,' he said, shutting down the debate.
'Eh?!' A confused-looking Lisa responded, while Karl said, awkwardly: 'Crickets.'
The panel then attempted to smooth over the tense moment by cutting to weather presenter Natalia Cooper.
