Dancing On Ice could be set to make a surprise comeback three years after it was axed... as ITV bosses 'believe the decision to cancel the popular show was a mistake'
Dancing On Ice could make an unlikely comeback - three years after it was axed from our screens.
ITV bosses are in early discussions about reviving the popular Sunday night programme, sources have revealed.
The show, which featured ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, made it to nine series before it was axed in 2014 following slumping ratings.

Direction of Television Kevin Lygo is said to be particularly keen to bring back the programme, which could replace celebrity talent show Dance Dance Dance.
A source told The Sun: 'Kevin always thought ITV axing Dancing on Ice was a mistake so now the idea of bringing it back is being looked at.
'It was a smash hit, and even at its worst was still pulling in more than some of the shows currently on telly – particularly in the Sunday night slot.

Speaking about the decision to cancel the show, Torvill and Dean said at the time that they wanted Dancing On Ice to 'go out on a high'.
The 2014 season marked the 30th anniversary of the pair's world-famous Bolero routine, which they first performed at the 1984 Olympics.
Dean said: 'It's 30 years next year since we performed in Bolero on February 14th, Valentine's Day, and we just thought it's full circle.
'We've had this wonderful experience and we just wanted to finish at the top of our game, and the show to be on top of its game.'
MailOnline has contacted an ITV representative for comment.
