Jaime King set to star in How To Cook Your Daughter based on emotional abuse memoir by Jessica Hendry
Jaime King is set to star in a film adaptation of How To Cook Your Daughter.
Deadline reports that the Hart Of Dixie star, 37, is to take on the lead role in the movie which is based on Jessica Hendra's memoir of the same name.
Jessica's book tells her story growing up as the daughter of National Lampoon editor Tony Hendra who she alleges sexually abused her from the age of six and also subjected her to emotional abuse.
Onto the next project: It was announced on Monday that Jaime King is set to star in How To Cook Your Daughter based on Jessica Hendra's memoir. Here is the actress in Los Angeles for a Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party last weekend
Telling the story: Jessica's book talks about growing up as the daughter of National Lampoon editor Tony Hendra. Here is the writer in her Los Angeles home in 2005
Her book was written in response to Tony's own tome Father Joe: The Man Who Saved My Soul, which was about his life-long friendship with a Benedictine monk who he credits with saving him from drug abuse, illicit sexual escapades and a dysfunctional family life.
Following the publication of Jessica's text, Tony vehemently denied her accusations and he has never faced formal charges over her claims.
Jennifer Clary - whose previous credits include The Silent Thief and The Potters - is attached to direct the project and production is due to begin in November.
Emotional impact: The author's story describes the alleged abuse she encountered. Here she is in LA in 2005
Jaime was last seen on the big screen in Barely Lethal and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
The actress has also done her share of modeling and fashion, something she's been attached to for as long as she can remember.
In a report from Into The Gloss in 2015, she dished on where her fashion sense came from.
Casual day out: Jaime was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills, California last week
'I've always been obsessed with fashion, I think that came from having to shop at Goodwill and learning how to make something look cool with no money.'
'And my mother was a seamstress so she'd make a lot of my clothes.'
Jaime has been married Kyle Newman since November 2007. They have two children: James, three, and Leo, one.
