Thunderbolt And Lightfoot

Clint Eastwood stars in this crisp, funny and well-written movie as a bank robber who is on the run from his former partners because they are convinced that he has run off with their share of some loot.

As he escapes, he teams up with a young drifter, played by Jeff Bridges (who steals the film playing his good natured sidekick, and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar).

This was writer-director Michael Cimino's debut behind the lens, after co-writing for Eastwood in Magnum Force, but before he went on to win three Oscars for The Deer Hunter.
