Happiness
It used to be that every comedy drama on TV had to feature a 30th birthday party and accompanying angst. Now ditto the 40th (could it be that TV execs are growing up? We'll probably see a spate of fiftysomething dramas in 2010. Or mass retirement parties at Broadcasting House).
It's hard to tell the difference between a 30th and a 40th mid-life crisis. They both involve going on about how old you suddenly are and how you can no longer do certain things, and are followed by the realisation that you were always this crap and haven't changed at all.
Whitehouse's 40th crisis has no distinctions, but is very amusing - particularly when he tries to get his mates to reminisce along to the Sex Pistols, only to be told, 'This is shit. Haven't you got any Corrs?'
