Malcolm In The Middle
Part three of this multi-Emmy Award-winning, high-rating family sitcom, and I have to say it's growing on me.
Frankie Muniz, who plays the main character, a wisecracking genius, is a good young actor, even though his man-trapped-in-kid's-body thing is a bit creepy. I'm told he's not one of those stunted older actors like Michael J. Fox or the really scary one in Diff'rent Strokes (or indeed our own Dexter Fletcher circa Press Gang). No, Muniz is your bona fide should-have-been-in-Bugsy-Malone young 'un.
The morality is laid on a little thick, and in a way that suggests it's The Wonder Years for the George Bush era. But I did laugh out loud a few times.
